ending global poverty....
fuck foreign aid.... it does not work.... when eye was in college.... the united states gave billions of dollars to mexico.... to help them fix their problems.... then.... all of a sudden.... vail had a bunch of new home owners with mexican nationality.... hmmm.... where did all of that aid go.... did it really get into the hands of the poor.... did it really go to create systems to help the poor.... probably.... most likely.... most of it went to help the poor.... but.... eye have a feeling.... a lot of it ended up in the hands of the mexican leadership.... for their personal toys.... and a lot of it went to companies owned by the friends and families of the mexican government.... fuck foreign aid.... it rarely works....
rather than foreign aid.... eye am going to give certain countries a basic income.... eye am going to give the citizens of certain countries basic incomes.... eye will not be able to afford to give all of them a basic income.... right out of the gate.... the current budget for foreign aid is somewhere around one hundred and fifty billion dollars a year.... in my estimation.... that is enough.... to lift all of the citizens of three countries out of poverty.... so.... lets have all of the third world countries bid on the aid.... bid on having their citizens receive a basic income.... rather than tell them what they have to do.... like our governments and international organizations like to do.... rather than tell them what they have to do.... lets let the countries come up with their own plan.... and we can choose among the plans.... choose the three countries that come up with the best plans.... to help their citizens out of poverty.... and give the citizens of those countries a basic income.... and then.... as those countries come out of poverty.... get them to take over the basic income.... and use the funds to help three more countries....
this plan is not perfect.... it is far from perfect.... but it is far better than the current system of foreign aid in this country.... it puts the power in the hands of the citizens.... it puts money directly in the hands of the citizens.... it helps to create and grow the economy in these countries.... it allows free enterprise.... it allows the citizens.... to decide how things unfold.... rather than letting the leaders dictate how things unfold.... free enterprise ALWAYS does better than governments.... it allows thousands of citizens to come up with ideas.... and the best ideas float to the surface.... rather than restricting the idea factory.... to the few hundred decision makers at the head of the governments of these countries....
eye cannot end this chapter.... without saying.... that america owes it to third world countries.... we need to help them.... because we created the problem.... yes.... their leaders allowed it to happen.... but we created much of the problem in these countries....
as an example.... we have always been more technologically advanced than africa and south america.... are farming is much more efficient than theres.... and rather than license our technology to them.... rather than teaching them how to farm.... we started dumping cheap product into their markets.... undercutting foreign farmers.... bankrupting them.... forcing thousands of people off of their farms.... and.... into the cities.... and.... with no jobs available.... we forced them into slums in the cities....
and now we have them trapped in poverty.... dependent on the global poverty system.... which destroys industry in these countries.... further exacerbating the problem.... if you want to find out about all of the ails of the foreign poverty system.... watch.... poverty inc.... it is an enlightening documentary about the global poverty industry....
