creating MORE competition....

rather than break up companies and industries....  why not create more competition....  through government funded competition....

once a company establishes monopoly power....  it is NEARLY impossible for someone to create a competitor....  

creative destruction....  works....  but....  creative destruction....  only happens....  every twenty or thirty or forty or fifty years....

like....  the train....  displacing the horse and buggy....  the automobile....  displacing the train....

so....  the government NEEDS to ASSIST in creating competition....

for instance....

the government needs to create a search engine....  to compete with google....  eye know exactly what this new search engine should look like....

the government needs to create competition for hollywood....  a film industry....  driven by conservative values....  every industry NEEDS balance....  if the industry goes dramatically far left....  if the industry....  decides....  it wants to drive our value system....  then....  you need another industry....  to....  either....  drive our values in the opposite direction....  OR....  even better....  stay OUT of politics....  and....  be driven by providing the BEST entertainment....  

the government needs to create competition for professional sports....  for the nfl....  for the nba....  for the mlb....  without government assistance....  it would be NEARLY impossible for someone to create serious competition to any of these monopolies....  for instance....  they OWN the draft....  unless....  the government opens the draft to new competition....  it will NEVER be able to compete at the same level....

creating competition....  is a far better way to break up monopolies....  instead of taking them on head on....  instead of breaking them up....  you CREATE something new....
